As an alternative, Atari has revealed its first official trailer for their next game in the Test Drive racing franchise, Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends. The game looks to be a hit, especially among enthusiasts who would love to slip behind the wheel of a Ferrari in particular. I mean, who would not want to “virtually” drive a Ferrari -vintage or new? The new game combines an astonishing 70 years of Ferrari’s automotive culture and history.

Christian Gebhardt, Sport Auto’s test drive editor, had a chance to get behind the wheel of an Alpina B3 GT3 based on the BMW 3-Series E92 335i and Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo build. Honestly, I never knew there was such a thing as an Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo, let alone the exclusive Alpina B3 GT3. I have always admired the quant aftermarket build of Alpina BMW vehicles especially the long-running 7 series offered here in America. To my surprise, Alpina has taken the already-fast BMW 3 series 3.0-liter Bi-turbo to a new level all the way to 402 horsepower and 398 ft-lbs. of torque.

GT-R drivers learn to handle Laguna Seca’s famous corkscrew. (Credit: Nissan) SALINAS, CA — On a recent Friday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Nissan hosted a group of 2012 GT-R owners as part of the rollout of the revised 2013 version of the car. This was one of three such gatherings nationwide, and about 35 owners were present with their cars, while Nissan provided demo versions of the 2012 GT-R for invited members of the media. Also on hand were instructors from the Skip Barber Racing School, providing tips on driving lines and technique in a series of morning sessions using the current cars, and giving full-tilt rides in the new cars in the afternoon.
