BMW has added iPhone calendar integration to its cars equipped with ConnectedDrive. (Credit: BMW) Last month we looked at how 10 automakers have integrated apps into their cars. Now BMW has reminded us of the rapid pace of technology development by showing off new features for its ConnectedDrive system, along with its future direction. BMW’s newest innovation for ConnectedDrive is the integration of the iPhone calendar app. With it, drivers will be able to call up the calendar on their BMW’s center screen

Kia's first EV will be a small vehicle based on the platform underpinning the Hyundai i10 minicar, pictured. (Credit: Hyundai) LOS ANGELES–Hyundai Motor Group, the umbrella company that includes Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors, plans to launch a Kia-badged small electric vehicle by year end and follow with more EVs starting in 2014, the company said this week. The announcement did not say whether the new EVs eventually would be sold in the United States. Kia has dubbed its EV effort the TAM project. Kia’s first EV will be a small vehicle based on the platform underpinning the Hyundai i10 minicar.

Turn 10 Studios has produced a live-action trailer for the upcoming Forza Motorsport 4 racing sim for Xbox 360, and it is officially the saddest thing I’ve seen this week. Now, I don’t mean “sad” as in poorly made. The trailer, titled “Endangered Species,” is beautifully produced. It’s narrated by Jeremy Clarkson, from the show “Top Gear”; the action follows an enthusiast’s escape from a carpool and into an Aston Martin DB9 sports coupe and his subsequent attempts to outrun all those things that suck the joy out of driving.
